Discoer Wisconsin Host Learns About Historic Cheese Making

Discover Wisconsin Host Jack Taylor visited the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and Museum as part of the Destination Dairy episode. Part one of the Destination Dairy Discover Wisconsin episode is scheduled to air this weekend, May 2nd and 3rd, 2020.

Jack gets a tour of the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and Museum from Director Donna Douglas. Rudy Kaderly then takes Jack over to the Imobersteg Farmstead Cheese Factory and shows him how cheese was made historically. Jack learned that making cheese was back breaking work and he developed a new found respect for the [cheesemaking] pioneers.

While the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and Museum was the only Monroe dairy location featured in this episode, the co-hosts visited other dairy sites across Wisconsin. In addition to the National Historic Cheesemaking Center and Museum, they visited the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc, Cedar Grove Cheese in Plain, and Nasonville Dairy and Weber’s Farm Store.
